Aussie Recruiters

Think. Care. Engage. Recruit

These days, candidate references checks include finding about their presence online (viewing what they've written on their myspace site, for example). Similarly, service providers including recruiters such as your good selves are also being put to a similar type of web-based scrutiny. Candidates are interested in knowing your track record, tenure, what past candidates say about you, etc.

So if you want to know how you are being portrayed online, you might want to try a couple of things:

1.- Google/Yahoo!/Zoominfo yourself - you don’t have to be a megalomaniac to want to know who’s saying what about you or your company, or how you are being portrayed online. if you come across a conversation or opinion whether it is on or offline, you may want to intervene and add to it, correct it if it’s wrong, address it if it’s accurate but bad, pat yourself in the back if it’s great, or ignore it if you please. Thing is, now you know and you have a choice to participate in the exchange, whether it is a comment thread or recommendations website, whatever.

2. - Create a google alert; every time that your name of your company's shows up on the internet, Google can email you the link to the blog, site, group, event, etc so you know the context in which it is mentioned. Just enter the keywords that you want Google to stay on the alert for and just wait for the alerts to come through

let me know if this is of use, and how you go if you decide to start monitoring your reputation online
