Googling candidates
AIRS is a US based outfit which is pretty heavy on online sourcing training to recruitment professionals. I just received a mailer from them advising of the latest practice-specific courses for candidate searching using Google.
As you can see, these are online courses, so my expectation is that they are properly paced plus you are left with access to the resources/techniques taught well after the course is over.
It would be great to hear from people that have done the course in this region and how beneficial it was for them; I am sure that the specifics of the training are very much suitable for this geography, though I wonder if their application (i.e. searching for local talent) yields different results to that in the US or Europe.
Now if paying US 600 for one of these courses is not in your immediate agenda, you might want to try the Google Checklist prepared by a guy called Shally Steckerl. He is an ex-Microsoft recruiter and now a well known name in the blogosphere for his use of sophisticated online tools to tap onto talent. At 19.99 USD the checklist is expected to be a tip of the iceberg kind of summary on how to use search, but it might give you a taste to try it in further dept.
